#4 I'll try, but stupidity and lack of analytical thought posted as factual statements makes me sad.
I agree with your statement in theory, but users (non-geeks) are more productive in a portal enviroment with a similiar UI for all apps IMHO. So creating rich apps in the browser has some value...but I see your point. Personally, I think ActiveX should be disabled on the internet zone and only enabled on trusted and intranet zones.
BTW, if your an admin, you can block all ActiveX controls except ones you specify (like flash, etc.) and can change it via group policy.
