Microsoft Corp said on Monday that retail and new PC sales of Windows XP, its flagship operating system, have grown to more than 210 million copies since the product was launched two and a half years ago. The world's largest software maker also unveiled on Monday the latest version of its anti-piracy software for digital files, music and movies, which it said would work with a wider class of online services and devices.

#4, #5 - here is a link to the 2003 US market share for Apple: http://www.macobserver.com/article/2004/01/15.15.shtml
The data summary is:
US PC Shipments, Calendar 2003 (Preliminary)
Rank Vendor 2003 Shipments Market Share 2002 Shipments Market Share Growth
#5 Apple 1,675,000 3.2% 1,679,000 3.5% -0.2%
Note the above is not world wide sales, but US sales. Since the US sales is the higher number, those that favor Apple will often use this figure. Alternatively, you'll get, "what is the meaning of market share. . . ."
Regardless of what statistics you use, Apple's market share of the computer market has been declining despite the iMac, OS X, or the G5.
While I wouldn't dispute Parkker's prediction, I tend to think that it will be some major production mishap that will cause Apple to turn out the lights on some of their product line. Those "mishaps" have occurred every year like clock work in the spring to one extent or another. I don't know which is more incompetent the CEO or the COO.
On second thought, who cares? Apple is such a minor player now as to be non-existent.

I'll offer you again, Parkker, would you like to make a wager about Apple dropping computers before 2007? Let's make it $100. And I will GIVE you a bonus $500 if it actually happens in your predicted 1 to 2 year period. Will you take it? Or will you continue to say things you yourself do not believe enough to back up?

One thing is for certain - if Microsoft stopped developing software for the Mac, they'd be in a world of hurt (even more than they already are)

Parker, you want THOSE odds? Okay... I was offering you 6-1 for 2004 up to 2007 and 1-1 for 2007, but okay... I'm not going to talk any different though. Take the bet or don't. I'm not going to sit on my ass for a month waiting for you to back out because I call some idiocy of your's stupid.
So: if Apple drops desktop hardware in 2005, you get $300; if they drop desktop hardware in 2006, you get $200; if they drop supporty in 2007, you get $100. If they don't, I get $100.
Deal?

So... yet again, you run away from the bet that I have offered and sweetened about 20 times now even though it's a "sure thing." You are one pathetic b1tch, Parkker.

Your attempts to make ludicrous claims, to say you'll bet because you are confident, and then backing out as soon as we set terms is tiresome and pathetic.
If you'd actually take the bet, like you've said you would, I wouldn't have to continue to call you on it.
