Xbox takes sales lead over PS2 | |

MICROSOFT'S Xbox price cut has appeared to pay off, with the company claiming its first ever weekly sales win against arch rival Sony PlayStation 2. In the week ending April 18, Xbox took 50 per cent of the "next generation" console market, 15 per cent ahead of PlayStation2. Nintendo's GameCube accounted for 7 per cent of sales during the week, Microsoft said, quoting figures from industry analyst GfK. | ||

| montana: How about Splinter Cell, which was originally just for XBox (I think it's a much more enjoyable game than Halo, personally). You also have Doom 3 as an X-Box exclusive (not including PC). The games are there, heck, MOST games run on more than one platform, but plain and simply, if you like Zelda, you will have to have a Gamecube, if you like Final Fantasy then you will have to have a PS2.... I personally do not enjoy any RPGs and as such do not care for those games. |

| montana, i think MSFT understands EXACTLY that games make the console. I think they've done unbelievably well, considering they are the newbie in the market. To even do as well as nintendo with the first xbox... is quite a successful feat. |

| Halc: Microsoft has produced a huge library of very popular games, to say that they do not know much about gaming is outrageous. |
