Microsoft has popped up at a Linux conference in London to fight its corner and encourage Linux developers and vendors to battle for the desktop market. The increasing take-up of open source on the desktop will drive Microsoft to create better products in response, the software giant said on Wednesday. | ||

Correct. But the Bush administration certainly tried to blur the lines so that people would associate the 2 with each other. And as you can see it worked well in Parkker's case. |

It strikes me that some extraordinary attempts have been made to establish links between Al Qaeda and Iraq. However, it didn't take but a few weeks to discover that 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudi nationals, along with a potential money trail leading to the royal family. Whatever standard of "justice" is being used appears to suffer greatly from a very uneven application.
Consider that no matter what the circumstances, if even 2 of the hijackers had been Iraqis, Saddam's ass would have been ours within a week. I think Richard Clarke would agree. Funny how much political discussion is sparked by the phrase "Bring it on!" ;-) |

(#22) I think "while his superiors fled in terror" is an unfortunate mischaracterization.
I may have significant political differences with the current administration, but surely you realize how critical it was for Bush and Cheney to remain in separate locations until the situation was fully understood. Whatever their state of mind might have been, the disaster of 9/11 would have been cataclysmic with a major disruption of our leadership, and the White House was an obvious target. Make your charges fairer, and I'll drive your bandwagon ;-) |

I always find it interesting that the major media outlets are always fascinated by our casualties when the United States is at war. Yet, while we are at peace and sustaining, on average, 400 deaths, and many more injuries per year, it goes largely unnoticed with the possible exception of aircraft accidents. Could there be a political point that they may be making? Naaaaawwwww!
Now, what was the topic we were supposed to be (dis)cussing? |
