User Profile Hive Cleanup Service A service to help with slow log off and unreconciled profile problems. Quick Info Download Size: 18 KB - 284 KB Date Published: 4/8/2004 Version: 1.5 Overview On Windows 2000 the service deals with application event log event 1000 from source Userenv where the message indicates that the profile is not unloading and the error is "Access is denied". On Windows XP and Windows 2003 the equivalent events are 1517 and 1524 from source Userenv. To accomplish this the service monitors for logged off users that still have hives loaded. When that happens the service determines which applications have handles opened to the hives and releases them. It logs the application name and what registry keys where left open. After this the system finishes unloading the profile. | ||

| Hrm... says version 1.5 like last time, but the files are different. Argh! I wish they could just say it was version 1.5.1 or something like that... |

| #2, I guess I'm missing something...I've downloaded this "new" version and installed it on 2000 and XP and it still says it is 1.5.4.20. Where are you getting 1.5.5.21? |

| It is indeed that version now. I dowloaded it 3 times since the link was posted and installed it on 3 machines all showed the old version. Oddly, after your post I downloaded it AGAIN, and indeed the file was different (size, msi revision #). I installed it and it is now this new version you noted. Hmmmm....?? |
