CDRLabs.com has posted another of their informative DVD writer reviews, this time on TDK's dual format 8x DVD burner, the Indi DVD 880N. This drive supports writing DVD+R and DVD-R media at 8x, DVD+RW and DVD-RW at 4x, CD-R at 32x, and CD-RW at 16x. Here's just a little bit of what they thought of the drive:
It's hard not to like TDK's new DVD writer. The 880N not only looks good, it performs well and offers a good number of features. Based on the popular NEC ND-2500A, the 880N is one of the first drives on the market with the ability to write to DVD-R and DVD+R media at 8x. While not the fastest DVD writer we've tested, it was able to write 4GB of data in less than 9 minutes. The 880N's writing quality was also quite good and unlike Memorex's new DVD±RW, it has the ability to write to select 4x DVD±R media at 8x. The drive also performed very well in our rewriting tests. In fact, the 880N had some of the fastest writing times we've seen with both DVD-RW and DVD+RW media.
