I posted it because the news relates to Windows as well as Linux.
Despite the title, the news involves XAML and .NET, and how the technologies are viewed as possible threats to Linux's future due to the increases in developer productivity and native platform capabilities the technologies provide. Maybe the results of the reactions (one of which calls for further cloning of MS' APIs and dev tools) from the OSS community will not directly affect Windows in the future, but I thought the discussion was relevant to the possible environment Longhorn may contend with in the future. |
