Force of habit obliges me to consult with Microsoft's New Zealand country manager every January for a few clues as to what the future may hold. Good old Ross Peat he's an extremely affable guy, although that in itself limits the amount of information he's likely to give. If Microsoft's business worldwide was to turn to custard (not that there's much chance of that, not this year anyway) Mr Peat would be sure to waving the flags for the company just as he would if Microsoft were to announce it had made a successful takeover bid for the entire US economy.
