Scoble, argg I read his blog yesterday!, talked about a meeting with the head of the IE team and explained why this hasn't been fixed yet, but that a fix was in progress.

If you read this post (http://radio.weblogs.com/0001011/2004/01/14.html#a6186) I think his "why CSS and PNG aren't supported yet" excuse is even more lame than why the IE exploit isn't fixed yet. Other Bob (Bob Stein), this is one of several reasons I have for calling Scoble a dork. Conversational marketing (how he often refers to his blog and product blogs in general) is great if you aren't spewing lame excuses for not meeting your customers' needs. |

| It certainly should have been fixed by now, especially as its been around for sometime, its a very dangerous risk and one that, although may not have been successful so far, will be in the future and trying to downplay it won't get much support even from hardened supporters. |

I was waiting for another OS X comment from you about a security risk which isone reason why i stated you shouldn't downplay it because otherwise you're just contradicting yourself for previous comments you've made.
I think you are being rather nasty to a majority for users of Internet Explorer who won't be looking for something like that, I know I wouldn't be when online. People expect a patch for a problem like this, like they did for the @stake vulnerabilities which you like to bring up when there are MS security problems. The workaround Microsoft suggested on their site was to not click on links, wonderful. |

SYSTEMS AFFECTED 7.22 build 3221 (JP:build 3222) 7.21 build 3218 (JP:build 3219) 7.20 build 3144 (JP:build 3145) 7.1x 7.0x This is very serious . Too bad you forgot to post the following as well... SYSTEMS NOT AFFECTED 7.23 build 3227 (JP:build 3226) SOLUTION Upgrade to version 7.23 or later version. |

In short - just like the Registry and DLL's, integrating IE into the operating system wasn't the smartest idea in the world...
