Press Release |
Posted By: Byron Hinson |
Music fans purchased and downloaded 1.5 million songs from Apple’s iTunes® Music Store during the same period that Napster reported selling 300,000 songs during its first week of operation. More than 17 million songs have been purchased and downloaded from the iTunes Music Store since it launched in April 2003. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the iTunes Music Store had more than 80 percent market share of legally purchased downloads last week.

During the first week of Napster they only sold 300,000 - first week on iTunes music store they sold 1 million. Again, not sure what your point is?

parker just loves proving himself to be an uninformed, retarded @ss, Byron. Why he thinks he has some sort of point on this issue where Apple is clearing kicking @ss is beyond me as well, but he continually impresses me with new levels of idiocy.
Remember when he claimed Apple would fall off after the initial weeks? Apple has now ratcheted it up with the addition of Windows support. Napster doesn't care about 2% of the market, right, parker? So where is their 300,000 going to go? Hmm?
Oh, and let's reiterate: 1 million downloads in 6 days with 2% of the market vs. 300,000 in a full week with 98% of the market.
For fun, let's do it again-- I reiterate: 1 million downloads in 6 days with 2% of the market vs. 300,000 in a full week with 98% of the market.

It does get better though - because didn't people say no one will be interested in the AAC format for music stores - seems like no one really cares or Napster's service just is not good enough - personally I think its both.

Ahh, parker... no fckin sh!t... The 80% figure was announced duting the Analysts Conference and was in reference to the whole quarter. Of course, that number doesn't include companies that didn't exist or are too afraid to report their figures. But the comment was neither a lie nor even misleading if you have half a brain and ears...
Napster sounds pretty fckin retarded , to me, trying to claim they had 30 something % of that number. Huh? Gorog, Jobs said: "80% of the legal DOWNLOAD market as TRACKED by SOUNDSCAN for the WHOLE QUARTER," dumbass. He didn't say 80% of the untracked market for the week that Napster opened. Sounds to me like a CEO tripping over his own @ss.
In fact, this is the closest thing to a lie I've seen: "Gorog also disputed Apple's claim that it had 80 percent of the market for legal online downloads of music for the week ended Nov. 2." Umm, show me in the fckin press release where they made that claim. Please, d!psh!t, show me.
Selling more than anyone else and admitting it's a loss leader does not equal losing the most money. Rather, it actually implies they are losing the LEAST.
You find your "tax" comment so amusing, don't you? I love being reminded how much of a retard you are in every single irrelevent topic.

No, parker, you have to MISread it in order to INTERPRET it as a lie.
Did Apple claim 80% of the market for the WEEK ending Nov. 2? NO.
Does Gorog need to claim so in order to point to a lie? Yes.
Did Apple ever claim that Soundscan tracks EVERY service? No, they said they had 80% of DOWNLOADS of all services TRACKED by Soundscan.
So, again, where are these lies?

Yeah, I became aware of that MUCH earlier today. Funny, I asked you to read it, without reading it myself, and you didn't catch it the first time. But I'm the idiot. Funny, I cited it from memory--you proved yet again you can't read. How many times did you read it before you noticed it, parker?
However, the idiot (that's you) still fails to point out any lie since it does say: "According to Nielson SoundScan..."
So where's the lie, moron?!!

I love when you refuse to answer a simple question that you raised in the first place.

dumb@ss, Apple reports their numbers to SoundScan. Soundscan reports a total number of legal downloads that they track. Apple does the math. It's 80%.
Apple said they compromised 80% of the total legal downloads as tracked by Nielson Soundscan.
Apple did NOT say: we compromised 80% of the total legal downloads as tracked by Nielson Soundscan which happens to inlcude Napster.
That's a lie. See the difference? Of course not, your @ss is buried in your own @sshole, @sshole.
