HERE'S a bit of advice for Macintosh fans who decide to update to Mac OS X 10.3, also known as Panther, the latest version of the Apple operating system: have a good book or two handy while you're installing your new software. Or maybe go out for a meal or a movie. This is a b-i-g installation. Here at the Barrow the other day it took two hours and four minutes to install Panther on a Mac PowerBook G4.
