Apple offers software update for Panther, older iPods | |

Apple on Friday released an update to its iPod Software, to bring it to version 1.3.1. The software is intended only for iPods without a dock connector (older, first and second-generation iPods). It's available for download through the Software Update system preferences pane. This version of the iPod Software update is intended specifically for Mac OS X v10.3, "Panther," and iPods without dock connectors. If the iPod requires updating, the iPod Software Update will run and will allow users to install the new software the next time the iPod is plugged in and iTunes is launched. Software Update lists the update at 5.6MB. Again, if you have an iPod with a dock connector, or so-called "third generation" iPod, you're already using a later version of the software and this update does not apply to you. | ||
