By many measures, the core of the problem behind computer security flaws and big Internet attacks such as the ones in recent weeks comes down to one company: Microsoft Corp. Microsoft's Windows operating systems runs about 95 percent of computers in the world. Along with Microsoft's ubiquity, its software is a favorite target of hackers who say it is riddled with security holes and therefore easier to exploit than other operating systems. And hackers do exploit it -- with vigor. | ||

#3, before you say anyhting about MCSEs, what about the dumb $hit admins that allow users to be local admins on the 2K workstations! That is just stupid. Our admin does that because that way he doesnt have to do as much!
And because we got killed last week thats the fault of MS that non-certified admins dont set up the stuff correctly? (my work and home PCs were not infected with any thing last week) Sure there are paper certifications out there, but in this day and age i dont see how any of them kept their jobs. Its really easy to see if some doesnt know what they are talking about. And anyone interviewing them should be able to find that out! We have Win98 workstations all over the place too! that just sickens me. I and if you saw his approach to NTFS permissions you would laugh- Authenticated and Domian useres get modify permissions to just about everything- stuff they shoudnt even be able to read! |
