Why did MSBlast fail to take down Microsoft? | |

I'd like to say that most identified worms will eventually go away. But from what I've seen, once released onto the Internet, worms continue to infect new hosts. I still see a great deal of older worm signatures hanging out on the Internet, including SQL Slapper and Nimda. I'm sure that MSBlast and its variations will be eating away at Internet traffic for a long time. | ||

| Looks like they reinstated the redirection of www.windowsupdate.com to windowsupdate.microsoft.com, although I specifically remember reading that there were "no plans" to ever do so in the future. |

Halcyon, perhaps you should READ the article before commenting.
The article is explaining why MSBlast did not take down Windows Update. As you may or may not know, MSBLast was supposed to launch a DDoS attack on Windows Update a couple weeks ago. The title is a tad inaccurate, but fewer people would have read the article if it said "Windows Update". |
