Are Macs Becoming Respectable? | |

It may be hard to believe. After years of struggling at the end of the food chain when it came to IT managers, Macs are on the verge of respectability. As most of you know, InfoWorld is a weekly publication that caters to the IT professional. Some call them the enemy, because Macs are rarely specified for serious computing tasks, except for the usual concessions to the art department. Now we can, of course, blame that on the fact that an easy-to-configure computer might just keep them hanging out chomping on donuts rather than scurrying from PC to PC to fix various security leaks and system instabilities. | ||

Good to see you back Byron. I agree, Macs are becoming respectable. After being an MS Windows user for many year and finding that Macs are just superb is clearly a sign that they are doing something right. I had my first mac experience last year with a G4 and wow, I wish I had one at home. I was able to do the same tasks I do with the PC, except for online gaming.

| I would ONLY use my Mac if there were the same games as on PC (or released much sooner on the Mac than 8-12 months after). With the G5 I have high hopes for better gaming on the Mac - they are never behind in Graphic card terms, but the processor has set it back. |
