A simple solution would be just to use PDF files more frequently.
In any case, most of the "dangers" described in this document stem from pre Word 97 SR-1, where FastSave was on by default. With Office 2003 soon to be released, these problems are becoming a lot more obscure. |

Unix and Linux users can turn to tools such as Antiword and Catdoc to turn the document, including its formatting information, into a simple text file.
Um, Save as Text in Word?!?! Sheesh. But how many people really want to do that, anyhow? |
