China says no to MS, to use local software | |

In an attempt to end the monopoly of global software giant Microsoft, major Chinese ministries on Friday started upgrading its domestic software, by using the latest edition of WPS office software made in China. Fifteen Chinese ministries, including ministry of commerce, ministry of foreign affairs and ministry of state security, will be the first users of the new edition of WPS office software, the leading Chinese newspaper, People's Daily, reported. | ||

| Microsoft Office never really catch up in China anyway. Those goverment ministries still use Windows. That's more important to MS. |

This probably doesn't affect Microsoft much at all.
Why? Because nearly all software in China is pirated. |

I can actually read and write Chinese, in addition to English. Give me one feature you think it will be useful in Chinese, I can tell you why it is not needed. |
