Microsoft extends deadline for license change | |

Bowing to customer pressure, Microsoft has extended the deadline for business customers to sign up for a licensing program, just days after backing off a controversial provision that forced some to pay twice for software they purchased. The change pushes back to July 31, 2002, a deadline to switch to the new program. Microsoft recently had extended the deadline from October to next February. "Customers helped us understand that we underestimated the amount of time needed to launch this new program, especially in light of current economic conditions," spokesman Dan Leach told Reuters. | ||

| Excellent example #5... Ever hear of a trade in? Of course you are going to get more money off if you traded in your 2001 Toyota than buying a new one right off the bat. Is that too hard to understand? |

Allright 10 and 11 lets see if I can't dumb this down so it makes sense to you.
Scenario 1: I go buy a 2000 camry. I pay 10000 bucks for it. One year later its worth 8000 and I trade it in for 7000 to get a new Camry. Scenario 2: I go buy a 1999 camry. I pay 10000 bucks for it. Two years later its worth 5000 and I trade it in for 4000 to get a new Camry. Scenario 3: I go buy a 1998 camry. I pay 10000 bucks for it. Three years later its worth 3000 and I trade it in for 2000 to get a new Camry. Got it now? For those people that upgrade every year this is a great deal. If you don't then its not. You don't have to upgrade every year now. But if you upgrade later on its going to cost you more. |

Why wouldn't you just buy the car outright? You are taking a hit on financing Mr. Finance Professional. I love how these anonymous people espouse their beliefs that they are professionals or experts without backing up their claims.
You do not have to upgrade yearly as you put it. To upgrade to Windows XP you only need Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 98 released 4 years ago. Now enough of your lame argument. Your argument is invalid and I will leave it at that. RA |
