A report said distributors are up in arms because Intel is putting allocation on its CPUs that use its 533MHz front side bus in a bid to push the newer and more profitable 800MHz bus.
According to Digitimes, the chip giant is only fulfilling over a third of orders for 533MHz CPUs but the market isn't ready for a wholesale push to stand at the new bus stop yet.
The report claims that most demand – as much as 70% is for Pentium 4s, while demand for 800MHz bus systems is still relatively low.
