Mozilla Firebird is a free, open-source web browser for Windows, Linux and MacOS X. It is small, fast and easy to use, and offers many advantages over other web browsers, such as the tabbed browsing and the ability to block pop-up windows.
The download size for Mozilla Firebird 0.6.1 is 6.9MB.

http://www.AvantBrowser.com/ is add-on for IE. Tabbed browsing, pop-up blocker, etc, etc. It's free. It works just fine.
There's another one - MyIE2. I haven't tried it 'cause I'm just OK with AvantBrowser.

Yup I use avantbrowser now as well...
Very slick browser and it installed the roboform toolbar which is a huge timesaver. Basically it lets you create identities and fill out forms based on your preset info. Verry good stuff.
Peace,

#3,
I downloaded it and will give it a try. Thanks :)
However, it looks to me like it keeps multiple windows open at the same time. MDI mode, if you will. Is this correct?
If so, then FireBird's method is a lot better to me. It uses a _single_ window, and the content changes based on the tab clicked.
I'll know more after I try this.
Thanks again!

"You're right. It feels more like a crappy freeware application."
Strange, it doesn't feel like a crappy freeware application to me.
"It's a good browser, but they still haven't fixed the little interface problems that piss me off"
Well make up your mind. Is it crappy freeware or a good browser? Also, its 0.6.1 its not a final release. If you can't deal with the little interface problems why are you downloading it and bitching about it in the first place? Its easy, if you want a finished polished product don't download technology preview software.
"I'll stick with IE for now."
Suit yourself.

#9, open source NEVER has a final version. All versions are ALWAYS in Beta/Alpha stages.
It feels like a crappy freeware application to me as well. However it does have some nice features that IE should implement (and do a better job of it), yet IE isn't improving any longer.

#10 "open source NEVER has a final version"
What do you call Mozilla 1.0? Was that not the "final" version? Yes they continued to update it afterwards but 1.0 definetely was the final version.
ICQ has never been out of alpha/beta either and that's a commercial program.

"open source NEVER has a final version. All versions are ALWAYS in Beta/Alpha stages"
Shows how little you know about open source. But thanks for needless OSS bashing!
OpenOffice 1
gimp 1.2
Mozilla 1
Linux 2.4
Xchat 2
Gentoo 1.4
Apache 2
MySQL 4
PHP 4
Sendmail 8
Postfix 2
KDE 3.1
Gnome 2.2
Just to name a few.
Not to mention that firebird 0.6 goes head to head with IE6 6.0

tgnb, are you lost?
Those are not final versions. They continue to get updated all the time. Buggy as all get go. Example one, OpenOffice 1 is NOT the final version. They are at OpenOffice 1.1 RC 2 build now. Just because THEY SAY it's the final version number means nothing. We will see yet more versions of 1. Same goes for the rest of your examples. BTW, that shows how little YOU know ;-) about Open Source. You are probably still wet behind the ears when it comes to Open Source. Do a TAD more research ;-P
And Chris, Mozilla 1 is NOT the final version. Mozilla 1.4 is their supposed CURRENT final version, but they have build 1.5 in "alpha". Sorry, but they are always in beta testing.

I can't stand it when people say that myIE and Avant are slick browsers. They have piss poor UI's. If an app has a bad UI, no matter what features it has, it's total crap.
