There is Keynote, which I use exclusively now. I've never had a problem opening PowerPoint files or saving to them. The only downside is that you lose the fancy graphics and transitions when downgrading to a PowerPoint file. Other than that it kicks ass!
If only Apple would replace the tired AppleWorks with a powerful word processor, spreadsheet, and business level contact/mail/scheduling application. |

What else did you think I meant? An Office suite made by Apple is what is needed to get away from the one made by MS currently. This post was edited by jaredbkt on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at 07:27. |

| I'm only mildly impressed by Keynote (coming from PowerPoint 2002... if you came from PowerPoint 97, I would have been more impressed)--I think Apple could have gone a lot further. I'm hoping that we can see GPU-handled PowerPoint graphics after Longhorn is released--that could be something worth an upgrade. |

Personally I hope Microsoft continue doing Office for the mac, although as Apple are going 64bit, and Microsoft could have created ended up creating a browser on the Mac that runs far better and faster than it would have done on a PC, I can see why they stepped back from the browser side of things.
Office for the Mac is execellent, It will be sad if Microsoft do back out of it, but the difference here is they actually make some money out of Office for the Mac compared to IE. |

| I don't think 64bit would help out browser performance much. |
