Having dumped its console moniker and chosen to go hell-for-leather as an independent content publisher, Sega has announced a line-up of almost twenty games for release this year on all formats. This is particularly noticeable with the official announcement and multi-console release of Sonic the Hedgehog in Sonic Heroes. There's an all-new character from Sonic's creator, Yuji Naka, with Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, and old favourites resurrected and given the next-gen treatment like Altered Beast.
Online gamers can look forward to Sega GT Online and the latest Phantasy Star Online game for 'Cube. Also, the Sega Sports series is back on the agenda, with all-new look and game style and features.
