Microsoft Interested in Buying Vivendi's Universal Music Group | |

Microsoft has expressed interest in buying Vivendi's Universal Music Group, setting up a possible bidding war between the software maker and rival Apple Computer, according to sources familiar with the matter. Microsoft's interest is said to be at the level of "poking around, kicking the tires," but it has indeed had conversations with Vivendi executives about buying the music division, sources said. | ||

| I don't think there is much truth in this rumor. I am still a little shocked that Apple wants them. But Microsoft? Unless they have some great sheme hidden up their sleaves, I think Microsoft is too smart to make this purchase. Whatever, though... truth takes time... |

You are exactly right Parker.
No, Microsoft will not be buying their Universal Music. If they did, the other music companies would immediately end all work with Windows Media. You can bet on it.
