DeltaThree said Monday that it is in the final stages of negotiating a deal for software leader Microsoft to deliver Internet telephone services to consumers via Microsoft Messenger. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, DeltaThree said it believes its services will be made available to the public through Microsoft's instant-messaging service in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2001, and the agreement should be finalized in the next several weeks. | ||

| Perhpas cheaper then POTS but certainly the quality isn't there yet. What alot of people are forgetting is that besides the big city's where can have cable and other highspeed access(which I am blessed to have) and the d/l rates cut down on some of the choppyness those people stuck in dial up land have garbled long-delayed conversations. Perhaps when the technology allows everyone to have real-time full duplex convo's we can drop POTS |
