A key code for installing Microsoft's Windows Server 2003 has leaked onto the Internet, a loss that could lead to widespread piracy of the software. A Microsoft spokeswoman confirmed the leak late Monday and said Microsoft was investigating the matter. The code key leak comes more than two weeks before the software's scheduled release on April 24.

I am very disappointed that a key used for piracy is being distributed on this board. If you purchase windows legally, there is absolutely no reason that you would need such a key.
If you are going to steal software, there are a number of web sites dedicated to just that...listing it on this board is not required.

Only an idiot would post the key. Who would want it anyway? Windows Server 2003 is mainly supposed to be used only as a corporate server so if any of them obtained the software and used the key, they'd be done by the police as soon as they have to conduct an audit.

The key is hidden below in the follow block of characters:
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890
Ironically, using the same method used in books like "The Bible Code", the key really would be in the block above. Alas, you need to know what the key is before you can "devine" the correct sequence of selections to pull out.
As a matter of fact, I think I see an anti-Microsoft rant in that block somewhere too! A message from God! :-)

#10 I agree, there is alot of uses of Server on the desktop scenarios...buit either pay for it, subscribe to MSDN and get multiple legal copies to develop on, or live with the features of the desktop that you paid for. (PS - I am not saying you are guily, just expanding on your comments).
Somewhere down the road, people started thinking they should get everything for free in this world...and not have to work for it anymore. But that is another rant...

#9, I demand immediately that you remove my phone number from your hidden data block...hey, my SSN is in there too! So's my address! You've been secretly collecting data on me for years I see! Darn you spies!
Although I do see you prediceted the NCAA outcome as well, so perhaps we should have made some money on this... ;)
good one

I still find it funny that this is still a news story as it happens with every new release of every kind of software from applications to games, everything leaks out earlier than the stores get them.
