Report: Most Users Do Not Trust Microsoft | |

A recent survey by Forrester Research brings an ugly truth to the forefront: The majority of IT administrators currently working with Microsoft products do not trust the company or believe it can produce secure software. The survey cites some interesting statistics. 77 percent of those polled--all of whom are security experts $1 billion companies--said they do not trust Microsoft, and yet 9 out of 10 still deploy Microsoft software in mission-critical applications. If ever there was news that should bolster competitors such as Linux, this is it. But the question remains: What can Microsoft do to reverse this trend, and how long will it be before the company's fortunes reflect the growing unease in the industry about the quality of its wares? | ||

| Not much of a surprise this, even I am discovering new operating systems I would never have thought of trying a few years ago |

I think the reason Comdex has lost populous is because of the poor content. I went for the last time because it was a pathetic showing IMO. |

LOL you must be _really_ smart to arrive at that conclusion. "Hopefully you'd find that most consumers don't trust most companies." Hopefully? Why would you hope for something like that to be true? "Yeah, that's the question they didn't ask... 9 out of 10 don't trust Linux either." Sure .. turn it into a Linux VS MS thread why dont you.. we dont have enough of those yet. "I can't afford Linux. Not enough hours in the day to spend tinkering to get it to work." How many _years_ did you tinker with windows to arrive at your current level of expertise? "This "survey" only asked 35 people.. Not a very accurate sampling .. " Finally, someone with a valid point. "..and who knows, they probable asked at the Linux World convention :)" But then he ruins it by unneeded senseless OS bashing Gotta love this place. |

Trust? Trust to do what? Produce software? Babysit your kids? Hold your wallet? LOL

| I really hope some of you try some other operating systems like OS X - they will really open your eyes to what I feel are better operating systems (unless you play games) |

| Byron - I'm encouraged by Mac OSX... I hope it finally puts a nail in the Linux coffin. But I have no need for it myself. |
