The complaints are essentially the same, but the venue is different. Microsoft is under attack again for leveraging its monopoly and bundling its products, but this time its lines of defense are concentrated on the European front. The European Union Antitrust Authority has been pursuing an investigation into the software giant's business practices for three years. The case, which had been drawing to a close, gained additional steam recently when a new complaint was fired into the fray by the Computer and Communications Industry Association, a U.S.-based trade group that was disappointed with the outcome of the U.S. antitrust settlement. | ||

Europe hates Microsoft? That would mean, every European hates Microsoft. And if every European hated Microsoft, then either nobody in Europe is using Microsoft products, or at least very few. And then of course, there would be no need for a Monopoly trial.
Generalities are to be avoided. It is like saying, all Texans are rich oil men, that wear ten gallon hats, and drive Cadillacs. I am a Texan, and I drive a Porshe. LOL |

If Europe responds to Microsoft based on pettiness rather than legal views, it'll hurt them in the long term. I don't see that happening.
This article is another example of how speculation and fantasy have no place in news. |
