Updated! Breaking news - reports are coming in of missile attacks on Kabul, Afghanistan suspected missles have been launched. "missles are flying around the city" quote on CNN. Pentagon has just stated the Kabul attack wasn't commanded by the US. | ||

| If you have access to a TV - put on CNN or most news networks, there are flames over Kabul (The government areas there). |

"Afghanistan opposition claims responsibility for Kabul explosions. Details soon." It would have been presumptuous for the US to have launched attacks so soon after. There is no way the intelligence agencies could have determined those responsible, located the terrorists, and the military coordinated an attack within that amount of time, not without the chance of mistakes – something they can’t allow to happen… |

Well #21, the issue of spending to much was solely about the National Missile Defense. Many Democrats, as well as Military officials felt it was a pork barrel project that would take away resources for dealing with real threats.
This attack highlighted the fact that there are very real threats far more down to earth than a rogue nation with a missile. Foremost in my mind right now is #22's sentiment. This isn't about Democrats and Republicans. You want to blame someone for being ill prepared, you can blame both parties equally as nobody envisioned this terrible event. For now we find the bastards and introduce them to God's swift sword of justice. |
