#13 sphbecker,
Works 6.0 and Works 7.0....the spreadsheet applicatoin is now in Excel file format by default (it's *.xlr instead of *.xls). People wanted this badly, so they finally made the change from *.wss.
#10 JWM,
I agree, but I think one person might use features 1 through 10, while another person might be using features 1, 8, 13, 97 and 1252, while another person uses features 200-600. I think everyone uses different features, and Microsoft does what they can to please everyone's requests. That is another reason why they have such an excellent custom install option.
#14 Byron,
I am also running Works 2003 (just because I can, and it's free :-). However there is a disappointing issue. The mail merge has been hosed since version 5.0 and still was not fixed (by that I mean that formatting from the database you merge from is lost and is a known issue). The Task Launcher is much improved with the added projects. The new Watermark feature in the Word Processor is sweet. And they fixed the Calendar printing problem that they have had since version 5.0.
#7 Slip400,
The problem I had with Notepad+ (at least for me) is that it didn't properly strip my formatting when pasting into notepad for use in other applications. I prefer the Windows default notepad...plus it opens pretty damn fast.
