Microsoft to Modify .Net Server Licensing | |

Microsoft is set to deliver the second, and final, release candidate for its Windows .Net Server 2003 family later this week. The final product is scheduled for next April, and will also bring certain licensing changes. Among these is a move away from the per-server and per-seat Client Access License (CAL) option currently in place to a model that allows per-user and per-server usage. | ||

| They (MS) shoulda had per-user licensing in the beginning, then a lot of corporate griping would have gone away. Per-user is a good thing. |

cool: Actually Win2k Pro's IIS is called Personal Web Server for a reason, it's not mean to handle the load, it wasn't tweaked for that.
I agree, you need to be fired, as you obviously do not qualify for ANY position in the computing world, except maybe entry level tech support. Heck, it's been over an entire YEAR since XP was released, and they still haven't released Win.NET Server. Yes, they use the same version between Pro and Server (and home for that matter), but there is simply more tweaking for a serving environment in the Server line. ---------------- One more thing. You should really quit lying, because it completely ruins your reputation. There is not a chance in hell that Apache was easier to setup than IIS.
