Some of you asked the question after my Microsoft Wireless Bluetooth Desktop Review "How long will the batteries in the Bluetooth IntelliMouse Explorer last?" , well the IntelliPoint software just gave me a warning that the battery level is low and I should have batteries on stand-by when these die. There is your answer. Less than a month. | ||

D'oh! I really wanted to buy one of these bluetooth devices, but with the horrible lag in games, and the fact that the batteries last less than 1 month, forget about it!
Think about it, if you have to replace the batteries every month, or every 2 months within a year you could buy yourself an optical intellimouse with all of the money you spend on batteries. |

Yeah, just get two sets of NiMH batteries and you will be set.
My Wireless Explorer needs the batteries replaced every 2 weeks or so, I'd say, so a month ain't bad. |

| #11: You mean copying the most uncomfortable, frustrating, non-ergonomic mouse ever created (the stupid round mouse made by Apple)??? Apple's aesthetics may be good (I still think they are mostly style over substance, Ipod is a major exception), but the hardware design of their mouse is and was pathetic. Whatever people might say about MS, their hardware has been top-notch (Sidewinder, MS Intellimouse, Office keyboard) |

In fairness, I remember Steve Jobs commenting on the old mouse when they introduced the new optical mouse. I think there was a quote he showed that said something about the worst mouse ever. Maybe it wasn't that blunt.
I really like the MS keyboards and mice. I don't care for the Apple keyboard that came with my Mac. A couple of weeks ago I thought I'd had enough and decided that I'd go out and pick up a MS keyboard. But I didn't when I realised that I'd really miss having the volume control and eject buttons right there on the keyboard. Do any of the MS keyboards have that functionality and work in OS X? |
