Thanks Paul & Louis. The MSNBC site has a new look today. We’ve adopted the MSN navigational wrapper on all our pages, so now MSNBC users can have easy access to all the great features and information on the rest of the MSN network. We’ve also added an exciting new feature —MSNBC Alerts for MSN Messenger. | ||

What? News alerts are useful regardless. The menus are useful if you frequent msn.com (and millions of people that aren't subscribers do). The new readers choice is also a helpful addition.
Um, what does that have to do with MSN services? |

You're implying that I'm too dumb to know what you mean? Perhaps you should have more clearly stated your opinion.
Now then, Hotmail is just one MSN property. Messenger is just one software offering. MSN is a portal site that people visit for many reasons. It is good that there is integration between MSN.com and MSNBC.com. Also, news alerts are an added incentive for people to use Messenger. FYI, MSN services in the last few months generally refers to the services which are a part of MSN 8. |

| I first started reading MSNBC in late '98 and was surprised at how much negative press they gave Microsoft. I haven't seen them hold back when it comes to reporting Microsoft's failings. Also, though, they are good about reporting Microsoft's good points. As far as I've seen, they are a well balanced, unbiased news source. This is quite welcome in today's arena of biased reporting - Register, Inquirer, CNET, ZDNET, etc. |

| It's very safe to say that eseiat and not provide any examples. Perhpas you're right. Perhaps they just write according to my personal bias, so I don't notice. Still though, if you want to claim they are biased, how 'bout a few examples. |

eseiat - I would have to disagree. I'm been a fan of MSNBC website for quite some time. The website is just about the best news site out there, especially in terms of balance.
That being said I hate the new MSN crap on the top. I think it's confusing, for instance a Search link that is not limited to just searching the MSNBC.COM website. |

| It doesn't seem confusing to me. What I've thought was strange was that MSNBC didn't use the MSN headers and stuff earlier. As for search, it says "Search the web" so I don't see the trouble. I think in time users will get used to it. |

I saw something funny and unexpected on CNN today. They had a story on http://www.nomoreaolcds.com/
I wonder how Steve Case felt about them covering this (I know -- not much he can do). Just never expected AOL-TW to cover it. Although as long as the site has been around, I guess it was inevitable. Especially timely considering AOL's version 8 launch. :-) |

| I was happy once to get an AOL CD. It came in a DVD case. I had just run out of jewel cases, and was about to buy some, when the AOL CD arrived. I still got more jewel cases later, but the immediate need was fulfilled thanks to AOL. I think that is the only time I've ever been thankful for receiving an AOL CD in the mail. |

| Are they good for anything else? I really don't think AOL dialup is going to offer me more than AT&T Broadband. |
