In case some of you haven't noticed, Microsoft has discontinued the following hardware products: Internet Keyboard Pro, Natural Keyboard Pro and the Wireless Desktop. In addition, the Cordless Wheel Mouse and the IntelliMouse w/ IntelliEye were already discontinued. You can still find many of these products for sale on Amazon.com and other retailers. | ||

I was so mad when they discontinued my DSS80 speakers. Seems they stop supporting their hardware faster than they do their software. Meanwhile some companies are actually still supporting stuff they made years ago.
One thing is for sure, I will NEVER buy another piece of hardware with Microsoft's name on it. |

Skyfrog, it's even worse with their controllers.
As popular as their controllers are, especially the FF models, their support on the Software side has been dismal. The SideWinder software hasn't been updated literally in years! And, they cheated on the WHQL certification. I guess the owner of the keys to the WHQL labs can get away with this. They gave full WHQL certification to their SideWinder 4.0 software, which has gone several years without updates, in it's PRESENT condition, and it won't even install on Win2K/XP without giving a warning that it was written for Windows 98 only and may not work correctly on 2K/XP. It works in most cases, but this just amplifies how little faith I have in the WHQL testing system. TL |

BTW... I consider the MSFFW to be the best consumer-grade force feedback wheel on the market. It's extremely durable and has about the best pedals going.
That's why it's such a shame that the software sucks so back. TL |
