Eve Online, the upcoming massively multiplayer title from Simon & Schuster Interactive has been delayed until March 2003.
Developer Crowd Control Productions (CCP) has delayed the release of the title in order to extend the current live beta and fine-tune the title's features. There are currently 70,000 gamers signed up for the test, and CCP plan to open their doors to 10,000 more over the next few months.
"Unlike other titles that are rushed to market, we will be patient and will only release Eve when it is ready," said Reynir Hardarson, co-founder of CCP and art director of Eve. "The additional time ensures we are able to produce the groundbreaking game we envision."
Those wishing to participate in the beta test can do so at the game's official website.
