Thanks Adrian. The MP3 format opened the doors to digital music for millions of consumers, many of whom now have significant collections of music in that format. Microsoft recognized the popularity of the MP3 format early on. In fact, Microsoft was the first company to introduce MP3 playback support at the operating system level, and is a registered licensee of the reference-standard Fraunhofer MP3 codec for playback. With the final release of Windows XP, Microsoft takes digital media and MP3 support to a whole new level. | ||

| No, it's not bait and switch. They're promoting their product, but at the same time, letting everyone know that all the kiddies who were screaming that MP3s don't work in XP were wrong. They work fine. They play fine. You can't rip them with WMP, but any other software works. |

#7 Isn't the fact that you can't play it on Linux a plus? And MOST portable players do support WMA. All the Rio's, Nike PSA Play, Iomega HipZip, All Pocket PC's . . . I think you have a pretty good selection there. Plus the quality and file sizes are much better than even MP3Pro can offer.
