Microsoft continually works to improve its software. As part of this effort, we develop updates and fixes to recognized issues and release them for customers. On a regular basis, we combine many of these fixes into a single package and make the package available for you to install on your computers. These packages are called Service Packs. | ||

| Thank goodness I downloaded this a few days ago. Now that the official release date has arrived and the site has gone live, everyone is downloading it and the transfer rate is bad. |

#5, I understand why you wouldn't want to use it if SP1 won't install, but my original question for you was why, after you have spent all the money on multiple copies of XP, would you just throw them away?
I don't think Windows is any less secure than Linux. Linux has just as many sec updates. Maybe because it is a lot more obscure than Windows makes it a less obvious target. |

| If Linux users want to think that they're secure, that's fine. We know otherwise. I'd rather have the patches for the security holes that we know of than no patches for the security holes that we don't know of. |

#14 Yes, I was aware of that. Its a pitty its not included in Windows 2000 SP3 released a few weeks ago.
