I think it's rather comical that people care so much.

Anyone try filling out their survey? The final field asks for email address, and was too short for either of my email addresses, about 20 characters.

I just did a reenactment of MS' Streaming Media West demo. I started streaming an NBC news clip (the one on Tai Chi) and disabled my network connection. The whole clip played without stoping. I figured it would do that, but just thought I'd see for myself.
#15 -- I second your comments about Halo 2 :-)
So did I #16. Got it from a link on the survey site.

#15 and #17, I agree with the both of you. The Halo 2 preview looks awesome. Trigger finger is getting itchy once again. =0)
One thing ...I had to disable my Matrox 550 DualHead DVD Max feature for the picture to show in MP9; after that, everything worked fine.

Here's something interesting ...Windows Media Player 9 Audio DVD decoder is CineMaster Audio Decoder by Ravisent Technology, while the other day MS announced that Windows Media Center DVD and MPEG playback is powered by InterVideo.
Looks like MS is trying to make everyone happy.
Oh the DVD Playback works great also.

#23 -- You may want to try out the "Revert" skin. It should remind you of WinAmp.
The "Corona" skin with it's mini player is also good.
All around, this player is great.

billnad, I didn't have any problems watching the stream with the WMP9 beta. I watched it embedded in the web page as well as standalone player. I'm running WMP9 on W2K SP3.

Rommels,
I wish it was ALL Ravisent. They decoder engines are VERY well done. The best in the business.
I use PowerDVD XP 4 Plus for DVD watching. It's engine is second best to Ravisent, but it's hard to buy a Ravisent player anywhere. They only do OEM as far as I know.

TechLarry ...I agree. In fact I have a Ravisent player that is configured for my Matrox G550. ATI DVD player also uses Ravisent technology for their graphics card with I also have.
Yes they do have a player called CinePlayer
This is something that might intrest you, and also check www.sonic.com
Welcome Ravisent Users

I have PowerDVD 4 XP Deluxe, which has support for 5.1 channel surround sound. In WMP I can only use downmixed Dolby surround which just plays the same sound out the back 2 speakers as it does the front. Anyone know how can I get WMP to use my PowerDVD AC3 audio decoder? I don't have to buy a new decoder filter specifically for WMP, do I? :-(

Do you have your speaker properties set for 5.1? I think you have to do this for WMP to output 5.1 audio.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.
