We have learned that future versions of Microsoft's Internet Explorer 6.0 will have new SmartTag features that answer most, if not all, of the concerns of Web site owners that have been expressed about SmartTags over the past few days. We learned these things from a leak from a "well-placed" Microsoft developer. These three changes are going to be made in future versions of IE 6.0

#4: You have a a pre-release copy. ... and from what it sounds like, you have an OLD pre-release copy. Imagine, something not working in a pre-release ... ooh. Things change, man. If you have a copy where there's no support for the "Off switch" META tag, they probably hadn't written the support for it yet. Pre-releases aren't feature complete from day one, it's a long road until then. Interestingly enough, I still haven't found a META code sample that will turn them off (but I haven't been looking, either, so I guess that's where that gets me...) |
