The 14 to 15 year old point is very valid. I know that if when I was 12-17 years old I couldn't even afford a new $30 game for DOS. I HAD to pirate just about everything that I had! However, I did purchase things that I really liked. FPS Football comes to mind... Ah, the memories!?! ;-)
I think it's very important for Microsoft to realize that 20 - 60 year old people aren't the only people who buy PCs and want to use Windows. They've got to price their product were a 12 year old can convince his parents to buy it, or scrounge up the cash delivering newspapers or something. I hate to say it... but if they don't, they stand to lose A LOT of middle-class 14 year old kids to Linux. Those kids have plenty of time on their hands to learn to use it too, and of source, they have a hugely understaffed IT market waiting for them to fill!
Hey! If you're a kid, and poor like the rest of us SOBs were, POST here NOW! We'll tell you why you shouldn't waste your time dicking with Linux. Go Windows, go MS, go Activewin, ... go Smirnoff Vanilla Twist! Woohoo!!!
