VIA CEO wants USB 2.0 killed off | |

VIA president and CEO Wenchi Chen is calling on companies to bury the USB 2.0 connectivity technology. "Our message to partners is if together we can make this [USB 2.0] disappear, the better it will be for us," he said as part of his speech to launch VIA's C3 processor at the Computex tradeshow in Taiwan. "It is confusing for customers and end users," he continued but admitted VIA was putting a bit of effort into supporting USB 2.0, just in case. | ||

#5: Well, for one, its significantly cheaper and, from what I've heard, not as flaky. USB is serial, though, so whatever bandwidth it has is only temporary. As soon as you put two devices on the bus, forget about bandwidth. FireWire handles multiple devices like this slightly better. Of course, we all know that nothing beats FibreChannel =) |

Time Warner happens to be the only cable company in the entire state of Florida, which means that Road Runner is the only company that offers cable, and it's like that in most of the US. |
