I Still Know What You Did Last Summer
I Know What You Did Last Summer turned out to be a pretty good horror film when it was first released back in 1997 just after the revival of slasher movies thanks to Scream. Kevin Williamson who wrote the first move (I Know What You Did Last Summer) has decided to move on and the follow up was left to newcomer Trey Callaway
Here is the basic story line taken directly off of the DVD box: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Brandy, Freddie Prinze Jr., and Mekhi Phifer star in this screamer sequel to the blood-chilling box office hit I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. Remember Ben Willis? He’s the fisherman who killed the boy who was driving the car when it went off the road in the fatal accident that killed his daughter Sara…he’s the man in the slicker with a hook in his hand ready to exact bloody justice…well, he’s back. It’s hard to forget a man who refuses to die. I am a big fan of horror movies as many of our regular readers already know. Unfortunately I Still Know What You Did Last Summer left me feeling a little flat. Kevin Williamson wrote an witty scripts with many good plot twists when he wrote I Know What You Did Last Summer. In this sequel you are left with characters that you end up wishing would die sooner rather than later as you don't tend to care for like the first movie. The dialogue and directing are also very poor. The main star of the movie is Jennifer Love Hewitt's breasts, they steal every scene she is in, as the director likes to zoom in on them whenever he can. This wouldn't be so bad, but it is supposed to be a horror film isn't it?, we pay good money to be scared. The extras featured on the disk are nothing great, there is a behind the scenes feature which doesn't last all that long, 3 trailers and a music video which surprisingly wasn't all that bad. I believe that the original I Know What You Did Last Summer had voice-over commentary, I am surprised that they didn't have a similar feature on this DVD. Overall I have to say that I am far more disappointed in the movie than the actual DVD. The picture quality is excellent as it should be today. The extras are ok but nothing wonderful and the actual film is absolute rubbish....Oh and one last thing, there is going to be a 3rd movie.....I can't wait................No really I can't.
