Fight Club could be easily put amongst the genre of a thriller movie, but although this title does fit certain aspects of the movie, it would be better placed in the new category of films that has recently risen. The category of 'must see that again'. Fight club is dark, moody, funny and provocative. I was recommended to watch this movie, but I stayed away from it's general cinema release and waited for the DVD release. I was not disappointed.

The films stars Brad Pit (Se7en, 12 Monkeys and Sleepers) who plays Tyler Durden a brash soap salesman and Edward Norton (The people Vs Larry Flint). Norton plays a young man who has become bored and disenchanted with job and finds refuge in Support groups for terminally ill people and often pretends to be ill also. He eventually meets up with Tyler Durden and between them they form the secretive 'fight club'.

They form rules for the existence of the fight club which soon gains great popularity.  'First rule of Fight Club is ... You don't talk about Fight Club' Which adds irony to the movie as these clubs are starting to appear all over the states.

The movie also stars Helena Bonham Carter and Meat Loaf, now watch out for the role that Meat Loaf plays, it surprised me. All the actors play their roles in a very convincing way and you really get into the characters.

The DVD is of high quality and found the menus easy to use. With this particular edition there are two discs, the second disk contains: behind the scenes with multiple camera angles and commentary, out-takes, deleted scenes etc. This is defiantly a good special edition, some DVD have the special edition label, but you are left wondering what was so special. Not with Fight Club. The quality is excellent and does the format justice. Although I do have a warning, I used both my PC DVD setup and a standalone player. The PC DVD setup had problems with playing the disc it had a file system error. This has now been rectified in the latest Hollywood plus driver release. This did only affect Windows 2000.

If you are into collecting movies or like films that really make you think then Fight Club is the one, I have now watched this movie a couple of times and each time I have found different aspects which draw me into the movie, excellent attention to detail.
