Sometimes I don’t feel like my commentary on the state of Microsoft technology is miscarry but sometimes after I read the sarcastic and often derogatory posts of some people I begin to wonder if some people don’t understand the concept of a business. As a small business owner I understand the need to generate revenue in order to sustain the lifestyle I enjoy and also the lives of the people that work for me. Although I would love to be able to just give things away to my grateful customers they understand that the services I provided are worth the money. Similarly I do not show these people how to steal from my partners so that they can save a few dollars.
MSN 8, the new version of Microsoft’s popular internet access product, adds a considerable number of valuable features that I will most certainly use. I haven’t used a dial up connection since 1993 but I have used hotmail for almost as long. When MSN Explorer was released I installed it so that my parents and little sister could browse the internet more easily. At the time both these products provided valuable services for free and I was grateful but when I was offered the opportunity to receive greater storage for what I consider a low price, I was happy to pay for the service.

If you see a fragile kernel with Windows XP. You don't know anything about NT.
Part of the reason NT edges out its competition in many respects is because it isn't based on the same old Unix. Yes, I know Unix cores have evolved over the years, but why is MS one of the few companies that can make their own OS from the kernel up?

Microsoft is more afraid of Linux than it is afraid of Apple. If Microsoft hadn't invested in Apple 5 years ago, Apple would have bankrupted.

#19 Apple presence in the School system is falling nomdlev and as you know Schools were an Apple stronghold. Also I know several people using Apple stuff and more tahn 80% of them prefer OS9 over OS X? Can you explain me why? I am honestly curious about, I asked them but I couldn't get a clear answer.

nom, come on bro. You have to wait three whole versions of the same OS before you get one that users will like? I think Apple should have kept it in dev a little longer. OS X should have been RC 1. OS X 10.1 should have been RC 2. Then, perhaps, OS X 10.2 should have been the gold code, or in other words OS X 10.0.
Furthermore, I haven't known a single CS department in any university to have anything at all to do with Macs. There workstations are generally Windows 2000. For higher courses (300+) you'll mostly find Unix and sometimes Linux. I've never seen or heard of a CS, CE, or MIS department in any university that had anything to do with Macs. Most CS profs openly preach their hatred of Microsoft. It's rather funny, that they don't even acknowledge that Apple exists.

You name a 5 universities whose CS departments use Apple computers.
Ever wonder why so many developers (like 90%) write Windows applications? First reason is likely that Windows has 95% market share. The next reason is that they got pissed of using UNIX crap in college.

Get a clue, bro. CS departments never have, en masse, supported Microsoft.

Well, I do know many developers that fall into the second category. I'm one of them.
