Scan For Errors

Scan you drive for errors. The Windows 98 setup will run a standard scan. To be on the safe side, run a Thorough scan under Windows. If you have a virus checker, check for virus on your drive and on the CD. That will ensure your drive to be 100% error free.

Quit All Programs

Quit all programs like virus checkers and screen savers to avoid interruption during setup. Also, this free up more system resources to ensure a smooth setup. Avoid any other disk activity during setup.

Note: We have found it to be best if you LEAVE Windows 98 to restart your computer when it prompts you with "Windows 98 will restart your computer in 15 seconds" instead clicking on the link to restart the PC yourself.
