More Flexibility For Desktop Icons
If you are the one who doesn't want to waste, you might be making use of all the icons on the desktop. Our last tip didn't make any effect on you since you have no intention of deleting any of them. But would you like more flexibility for these "stiff" system icons?
Refer to our last tip for searching the CLSID for the system icons. Then go to
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}
where xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx is the icon's CLSID.
Now, on the right-frame, search for a value called Attributes. If the value is not available, that means that you can edit on that icon and it must be left alone. If it is there, change the value to 70 01 00 20.
Back to the desktop, you can now do impossible things on the icons like rename or even delete the Recycle Bin!
