Jerusalem Announced

After POMPEII, Cryo and Mindscape introduces the second episode of the Adrian Blake trilogy.

Adrian Blake, a Scottish explorer and geologist living at the beginning of the twentieth century, shares his life with his fiancée, Sophia, and his adventures to the four corners of the world. But on the very eve of their marriage, Sophia mysteriously disappears. Convinced he has been cursed, Adrian sets off in her pursuit. Stricken down by exhaustion and fever, he falls into a coma. When he recovers consciousness, he finds he has been sent back in time. After exploring Pompeii and rediscovering Sophia just before the eruption of Vesuvius, he is once again whisked away by a whirlwind and wakes up before the gates of Jerusalem.

The Adventure
1552. After centuries of war and conquests, Suleiman the Magnificent, master of the Ottoman dynasty, reigns over the greatest empire in the world.

In Jerusalem, the Holy City, the three religions of the Book live in peace.

The Emperor has put his finest architects to work and succeeded in making Jerusalem once again the living heart of the Holy Land. It is in this unparalleled setting, where King David built the Temple, where Christ preached and the Prophet Mohammed ascended to meet Allah that Adrian Blake, now the right-hand man of an emissary of Suleiman the Magnificent, has to untangle the intricacies of a plot that is jeopardising the stability that the three communities of the Book had achieved. He will have to cooperate with representatives of these three communities to rescue the Governor’s daughter.

From the Holy Sepulchre to the Dome of the Rock, from the Wailing Wall to Solomon’s Quarries, a race against time begins in which messages of brotherhood alternate with mysterious traps, where the roles of hunter and prey, adversary and accomplice, become blurred. In pursuit of a mysterious stolen religious reliquary – a dagger claimed by some to have once been wielded by Abraham – Adrian sets off in search of the truth and of Sophia.

And so continues the great love story of Adrian, who is given a second chance to find the woman he loves in another time and in the heart of the communities of Jerusalem. To achieve this he must explore the city, understand the people of the three cultures of the Holy City, compare their points of view and untangle the plot that is endangering peace.

This game encourages the discovery of different ways of living, cultures and religious customs and highlights the overwhelming importance of universal values such as forgetting differences, the union of knowledge and wisdom, when the aim is to save a human life.

Jerusalem is a new historical adventure game co-produced by Cryo and the Réunion des Musées Nationaux. The 3D reconstruction of the Holy City and the screenplay were devised and validated with the help of international scientific exports led by Mr. Frédéric Lenoir, a researcher at the Centre Interdisciplinaire d’Études des Faits Religieux, Institut des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris, and a journalist and author responsible for the “Dictionnaire des Religions” published by Editions Bayard.
