Introduction
Logitech,
the well-known Swiss manufacturer which specializes in computer devices, has
recently launched a new pointing device specifically designed for laptop
users. Every serious laptop user will tell you that the embedded mouse of
most of today’s notebooks is inaccurate and uncomfortable. To address both
issues, Logitech has released the only optical mouse dedicated to nomad
users, the Logitech MouseMan Traveler. Featuring a stylish modern silver
look the MouseMan Traveler is quite surprising at many levels due to its
shell, its incredibly small size and its features as we will see in this
review.
Features
- Perfect, compact notebook mouse.
- New optical sensor up to 800 DPI - twice the
speed, twice the accuracy
Optical precision: No ball. No sticking.
Maximum accuracy.
Travels anywhere.
Fits comfortably in either hand.
Protective carrying case included.
Five-year warranty.
Installation
Installing the MouseMan Traveler is quite easy. You just have to connect the
USB cable of the mouse to your computer and start it up. If your laptop
doesn’t have a USB port or if you would prefer not to waste the only USB
port available, don’t worry! Logitech provides a small USB to PS/2
adapter so the mouse can be used on almost every kind of machine. Windows XP
natively recognizes the USB mouse but with some laptops you may encounter
conflicts since you’ll first have to disable the embedded touchpad (via the
BIOS or configuration program) so you can use the secondary mouse.
Once the
Logitech MouseMan Traveler is connected, you can start using your new mouse
right away, however it’s strongly recommended to install the MouseWare
9.42.1
set of drivers to unleash the full potential of this new pointing device.
When the drivers are installed, Windows will reboot and display a wizard
that will help you configure the mouse and buttons assignment..
