Microsoft's Network Time Protocol Server
Posted By:

Want to configure your
computer to Microsoft's NTP* (Network Time Protocol) server. The address is
time.windows.com. You can configure your Windows Time service to point on
this server easily. NOTE: If you have a clean installation of Windows 2003
member server, not in a domain, time.windows.com is the default value. Don’t
be surprised if you see this IP in your firewall traffic log 207.46.248.43
UDP 123.
1-
open command prompt and type “net time /setsntp:time.windows.com”
2-
now your clock is very precise.

*The Network Time Protocol
(NTP) is used to synchronize the time of a computer client or server to
another server or reference time source, such as a radio or satellite
receiver or modem. It provides accuracies typically within a millisecond on
LANs and up to a few tens of milliseconds on WANs relative to Coordinated
Universal Time (UTC) via a Global Positioning Service (GPS) receiver, for
example. Typical NTP configurations utilize multiple redundant servers and
diverse network paths in order to achieve high accuracy and reliability.
