Taiyo Yuden Co. Ltd., a forerunner in Bluetooth module development and manufacturing, today announced that it has been selected as the Bluetooth module supplier for Microsoft Corp. for its next generation wireless keyboard and mouse systems. Under the contract, Taiyo Yuden will manufacture Bluetooth modules with Microsoft's HID (human interface device) profile embedded on the flash memory. Such an advanced level of integration is expected to significantly reduce the circuit complexity of Microsoft's new wireless HID system. Microsoft is developing wireless HID systems as a key solution to the realization of the vision of connectivity outlined by Bill Gates, chairperson of Microsoft Corp., at the Windows Hardware Conference 2002 (WinHEC 2002).
