Here's a thought: How about editorials and/or news stories written by AWin staff and contributors?

How about a section of editorials that can be added to by outside contributors and confirmed by AWin staff. That way the staff doesn't have to actually write them... just aprove that they are decent enough and clean enough to be posted. That we could still have editorials and the AW staff wouldn't be bogged down writing them. I know I'd love to take a shot at writing some columns.

RCCHULUOTA: that's what I was getting at when I said "contributors". I think there are many articulate and opinionated viewers of ActiveWin that could contribute all sorts of different and interesting viewpoints.
However, like everything, this'll take a little time for the AW staff because they'll have to design a web framework to allow postings, revisions, approvals, and finally display of the articles or editorials.

I was considering a 'Letters to the Editor" section, which is similiar, how about that?

#16: yeah, that'd be cool. If it's done like a newspaper where a select few (well written, thorough) editorials are selected, then it's be entertaining to read and contribute, I think.

#16, oh yeah, and, of course, it should be written in .NET and use Passport for authentication >=P

#19: I find that the most interesting part! I love flaming people and getting flamed, it makes for interesting discussion and I learn somethings in the process, too.
Perhaps if the "comments" could just like to a Forum thread that was fully threaded, it would be a little easier to work with them. Right now, once there's more than like 20 or so comments, it gets unruly.

Actually, that's a good point, perhaps the forums should be exploited more? Right now, it seems that they're underused, and I feel that's mainly because there's not lively debate or flowing of ideas. It's mainly a tech support forum right now.
If you linked the stories with the forums more, you would increase the conversation and therefore participation in the site.

17#, yes, that's how they'd work. Probably to start we'd do it once a week, more depending on popularity.

What we really need is a running tally of who is winning in posts and arguments and the two contestants should be Sodablue and Sodajerk. It would be hiralous to have the AW community vote which one was winning weekly.
My 2 cents

#29 - why though, its all very well people saying that anon poster flame etc, but so do those with accounts, if anon access goes, so do 90% of posts.

#33, Are you even from America? Do you actually know what you are talking about? Almost all of my friends are bilingual, and at the place I work probably half of the entire staff (of around 5,000) are bilingual.
